To all Players,

Sucess is not always meausred by Wins and Losses, but more on the individual and collective efforts that a team is willing to make in the off-season. We have a tremendous oppurtunity to build on last seasons successful finish by beginning our season strong! (We have started the last two seasons without  winning our first few games) We have three great captains and players, and a few other returning players, but we are young aswell. Follow the older players and Captains' advice and off-season efforts. If you want to be a good player and play on good teams, you (we) need to put in realistic time this summer nto making yourself a better player. We have a chance to be a solid team is that happens. We play in one of the best basketball leagues in the state, and to be competitive, we need to work harder than all of the other nine cities and towns.

Our ultimate goal is to get better everyday, as well as each season. A State Tournament berth should be on every players mind, but in order to have such goals, you should be able to answer each question below with a "yes":

  1. Have I set aside time to use the weightroom at MHS this summer?
  2. Do I have copies of the off-season workouts and am I following them?
  3. Am I part of a summer league or open gym?
  4. Did I register for a summer camp?
  5. Do I play regularly (3-5 times per week) with my teammates?

Coaches cannot make you do any of these programs, however, it is our expectation that each player is motivated to improve and wants to do them. Remember, great teams are made between December and March, but great players are made between April and November.

       Good Luck!
