RULES AND EXPECTATIONS
1. All team members are expected to follow the MIAA athletic policies and the MHS student handbook's regulations as set forth by the principal and athletic director. We will review these all season.
2. Team members are expected to be at every practice and game; notify the coach ASAP if you have an important commitment (note: playing time may change as a result).
3. Each team member is expected to be on time for school and attend every class in the school day. Unexcused absences, tardies, and cut classes will not be tolerated.
4. Grades will be monitored a few times during the season with progress reports to ensure each student-athlete's academic standing and eligibility.
5. An MIAA and MHS rule states that each player must be in school by first period in order to play that day; if you are late for any reason, please check into the office right away.
6. The LOCKER ROOM must always be clean after each practice and game. We will penalize the entire team if not. The captains will make sure this happens daily.
7. Each member of the team will keep track of his issued equipment for the entire season and turn it in at the end of the season. We have nice stuff-respect it and return it.
8. All members of the program will respect their coaches, athletic director, principal, teachers, and fellow students. Failure to do so will result in consequences ranging from extra running to suspensions from practice or games, and dismissal from the team.
9. All members of the team are expected to wear a dress shirt, pants (NO jeans), and shoes (NO sneakers) to school and away games on the day of the game. At away games, everyone sits together. You are representing Melrose-act like gentlemen and behave with class.

VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES
1. Any infractions that violate a school rule above will constitue the athletic director, principal, and coach to agree on an appropriate consequence. Example: A player skipping class may get a detention, miss a game, and extra running before next practice.
2. Any infraction that violatesa team rule will constitute the coaching staff to agree on an appropriate consequence. Example: Disrespecting a coach in practice will warrant a consequence of removal from practice, extra running, and loss of playing time. Any player breaking multiple school and/or team rules is subject to being removed from the team.
